It would be an advantage to have the ability to teach a range of electronic and mechanical engineering units, for example CAD, CAM, and Welding, although we are interested in all applicants who are willing and enthusiastic to learn. Courses within engineering are popular at the academy with significant growth in student numbers in recent years. Achievement rates are high on all programmes, in particular our Post 16 students achieving sought after apprenticeships, with companies such as Rolls Royce, Siemens, and Severn Trent.
The Academy is a unique institution, at the cutting edge of education in the twenty-first century. They have many pioneering educational initiatives of which we are justifiably proud and the academy continues to provide an outstanding blueprint for education, proving that a stimulating educational environment can be combined with a challenging and innovative curriculum in order to produce outstanding examination results in both vocational and academic subjects.
The school is an above average-sized secondary school with a larger than average sixth form. The majority of students are of White-British heritage. There are below average numbers of students who are learning English as an additional language.
The successful applicant will be part of a growing team and developing faculty, who are firmly committed to reflective and innovative practice in line with the academy’s ethos.
