College of Science - School of Engineering
A unique opportunity to grow your research in the UK’s fastest growing Engineering School.
The University of Lincoln is seeking highly qualified applicants to fill two new Professorial positions in the School of Engineering. Additional lectureships are also being advertised at this time and may be associated with key Chair appointments (reference: COS062).
The Lincoln School of Engineering was founded in 2009 with HEFCE Development Funding, and in collaboration with Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery and other employers in the engineering sector. It is the first major Engineering School to be established in the UK for decades and is now undergoing a period of vigorous growth. The School has established itself as a centre of excellence for Engineering Education and Research. It was highlighted as a best practice case study in the Government-commissioned Wilson Review (exploring Business-University Collaboration). In 2011 the School was the recipient of a Lord Stafford Award for ground-breaking collaboration between industry and academia and in 2012 was the winner of the Times Higher award for Outstanding Employer Engagement.
Our research focus is in three core areas: power and energy; control and automation systems; materials and industrial processing. We have unique research links with Siemens, with whom we are one of a small number of Principal Partner universities. At undergraduate level we offer an innovative combination of Mechanical and Electrical degrees with options for cross-disciplinary focus, allied directly with our core research areas.
Applicants are expected to have an international research profile relevant to one or more of the above areas.
The University of Lincoln is a forward-thinking, ambitious institution and you will be working in the heart of a thriving, beautiful, safe and friendly city.
