Accounting Specialist Job

Job Description:

Accounting Specialist assist in preparation and analysis of accounting data, timely preparation of accounting reports and statements by applying appropriate accounting control and procedures in line with corporate accounting procedures. 
The job holder is accountable for posting of financial transactions in line with all accounting policies and procedures as well as monitor & control of financial planning process to facilitate timely and accurate completion of all company accounts and financial statements. 

• Conducts financial transactions such as booking and validating ledger entries, recording costs against standard budget categories. 
• Creates and maintains sub-ledgers master files (e.g. customers, vendors, bank) 
• Verifies the existence, correctness and validity of all required supporting documents 
• Assists in collecting and consolidating relevant data to perform a cash flow analysis. 
• Performs regular reconciliation of entry vouchers and General Ledger entries 
• Coordinates and follows up with the relevant stakeholders 
• Prepares accounting, fiscal, legal and other financial regulatory reports for internal and external stakeholders 
• Ensures that accounting practices are in line with statutory legislation and regulations 
• Undertakes monthly accounting reconciliations, investigates and corrects discrepancies 
• Books, maintains and analyses the monthly accruals and performs accrual justification 
• Generates control reports to check accounting data quality and reliability 
• Performs tracking and recording of quarterly post-closing adjustments 
• Maintain and files documentation and records in accordance with the Finance policies and procedures 
• Applies internal control processes and frameworks.

Skills
Training or Experience in Oracle ERP 
Computer skills including proficiency in common word processing, spread sheet, and presentation programmes
