Job Description and Requirements:
Reporting directly into the General Manager the successful candidate will manage all procurement of raw materials - grains & non-grains (feed additives and ingredients), spare parts and services for the entire production process, whilst ensuring adequate supply of materials to meet production needs and maintaining low costs and stock levels. As Purchasing Director you will devise a strategy to Identifying suppliers for materials required, evaluation and negotiation of purchase contracts and people management. You will have 6 direct reports with responsibility for the production teams, including appropriate staffing levels, recruitment and development of individuals. Key responsibilities include: • Planning and budgeting purchasing requirements. • Coordination with production and commercial departments to understand needs and ensure accurate forecasting. • Coordinating the logistics of all purchase deliveries in coordination with Supply Chain department. • Ensuring all purchases are adequately insured and managing the relationship with insurers. • Preparation of tender documents in coordination with all departments. • Liaison with Finance to organize Letters of Credit for purchases and managing all payments to suppliers. • Managing the relationship with all suppliers. • Monitoring international prices of grain and raw materials. • Managing the Purchasing Team. • Relationship management of suppliers and contractors. Who we're looking for: The successful candidate will have at least 8 - 10 years purchasing experience, with at least 2 years being in a management / leadership role within a FMCG/Manufacturing environment, coupled with direct experience with the purchasing of grains. Ideal candidates will have the experience of dealing with suppliers of raw materials, grain consultants & brokers, service providers, online traders, research institutions & contractors. To be considered for the role you must have a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and additional professional purchasing certification (i.e. Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply). Fluency in Arabic will be seen as an advantage but is not critical. About our client: It is a Dubai based food and beverages group with their products sold across the Middle East.
